Starting with this post, I am making a slight change in the title of this weekly post. It’s a small change from “website” to “webapp”. The basic reason is that is that I believe that most websites that are really useful or make life easier in some way, are a lot more than just good web design. They are more like functional web based applications. This is especially true of my favorite webapp to date: Evernote.

We are now official, fully sanctioned, Google “fan-boys”! Cibertek.net is now running on Google Apps. We can share calendars and contacts across the domain and our email is scanned and filtered by Postini Spam filter.

Wolfram Alpha is my vote for the absolute coolest web site of the year. Ever since it went live in May, this site has gotten better and more interesting as I use it. If you can get past the name, this site should be bookmarked and/or added to your search bar.

What Anti-Virus program should I use?
I get that question at least once a week. My answer is usually whatever AV program I happen to be running at the time. Over the years the answer has changed. Because I’ve had to rebuild, restore, or clean several of my system over the years because of viruses; I am a firm believer in having some sort of AV or Malware scanner running in the background. So I’ve tried almost every AV software out there from Norton (Symantec), McAffee, and One Care to Kaspersky
and ESET NOD32.
