My favorite independent anti-virus testing site just released their “Proactive/retrospective test” for 2010. This report is the companion to the tests done back in February 2010 and concentrates on the ability of the AV software to detect new malware is they come out.

Useful webapp of the week #7: Evernote
by The Cibertek on 20. Jan, 2010 in Software, Technology, Tools
Starting with this post, I am making a slight change in the title of this weekly post. It’s a small change from “website” to “webapp”. Useful website of the week #5: Pandora.com
by The Cibertek on 28. Dec, 2009 in Links, Software, Technology

by The Cibertek on 08. Dec, 2009 in Technology, Tools
Wolfram Alpha is my vote for the absolute coolest web site of the year. Ever since it went live in May, this site has gotten better and more interesting as I use it. If you can get past the name, this site should be bookmarked and/or added to your search bar.

Share If you running Windows Home Server, Powerpak 3 Beta is now available. The main reason for the update is the new Windows 7 integration. WHS will be able to backup AND restore full Windows 7 images, integrate with the W7 libraries, and use Windows Search 4. It also includes some new features for Windows [...]
5 Cool Things about Windows Home Server
by cibertek on 27. May, 2009 in Technology
Microsoft says that “Everybody needs Windows Home Server”. Well, maybe. The main reason anyone will even need or take advantage of the Windows Home Server (WHS) is if they have multiple PCs. That includes old machines and Laptops running XP and above.

by cibertek on 22. Feb, 2009 in Technology
For years I have been trying to figure out the best way to filter or block web sites so that my kids can’t either accidently or purposefully browse to. Like a lot of families with Internet access with a single or multiple computers at home,
